Picture of Vishen Lakhiani

Vishen Lakhiani Founder

Intense, a little bit crazy, and damn good at what he does, Vishen Lakhiani is a major influence in the field of personal development. At the tender age of 33, he has already built a multimillion dollar company, created one of the world’s top workspaces and has become a highly requested speaker in the fields of marketing and entrepreneurship.

It began a few years ago when he decided to quit his high-flying career at Silicon Valley and start his own bedroom business publishing self-growth programs online. But as business grew, so did his vision.

Vishen’s quest is to redesign the global education system and heighten human consciousness by combining marketing and technology to help spread enlightened ideas. It’s no wonder that he’s a marketing and technology consultant to some of the world’s top authors and thinkers in personal and business transformation.

As a highly successful online entrepreneur, there is some method to his madness, making him one of the most sought after speakers in the world of online business building. He has been invited to speak at prestigious events like the Transformational Leadership Council and at Tony Robbin’s Ultimate Business Mastery Summit.

This year Vishen expands his vision into 2 additional companies, Project GiftED, a company that seeks to bring new idea on parenting and early infant education to the mass market; and MindValley Hispanic, which publishes personal development products for the Latin American market.

See what some of the world’s top authors, trainers and speakers have to say about Vishen here.

Picture of Mike Reining

Michael Reining Founder

Mike is a self-described “serial entrepreneur,” having launched 8 different web businesses. After receiving his BBA from the University of Michigan, Mike beat out thousands for a position as an Associate Consultant with the prestigious Boston Consulting Group. Always interested in the Internet, though, Mike’s thoughts soon turned West—towards Silicon Valley, to be exact.

Mike got into the world-renowned Stanford MBA program and used his time there, outside the classroom, to test the waters of entrepreneurship. After Stanford, Mike joined eBay, the world’s largest eCommerce company, where he served as Head of New Venture Strategy. At eBay, Mike developed and executed a global classifieds strategy that saw eBay enter the local classifieds space, which included the launch of Kijiji.com and a 25% investment in Craigslist. Mike also conceived of a wild idea that led to the acquisition of Skype for $2.6 billion dollars. However, Mike had bigger dreams and decided to strike out by founding MindValley and hasn’t looked back since.

MindValley is now one of the world’s leading online publishers and marketers in the field of personal development. Without venture capital or loans, Mike and Vishen took MindValley from ‘bedroom’ business to multi-million dollar Internet company in the span of a few years. In 2008, Mike’s passion for innovative management saw MindValley named one of the World’s Most Democratic Workplaces by WorldBlu.

Picture of Juan

Juan Chief Operating Officer

Made in Argentina, Juan is our resident execution evangelist and productivity junkie. He simply loves “Getting Things Done” in record time and more importantly with awesome results.

He joined MindValley as project manager and together with his teammates was able to pull off the company’s biggest launch (so far) in just 45 hours of work flat.

Nowadays as our rock-star COO, Juan is fully dedicated to making MindValley run smoothly and creating a high-speed implementation and ambitious results-oriented work culture.

While working for corporations in several industries from Steel and Oil & Gas Corporations to Telecommunications and IT Firms (such as IBM), Juan always had and continues to run side businesses to feed his entrepreneurial soul. From teaching super learning techniques, exporting hardwood charcoal to tennis racket imports, Juan’s interests are diverse.

He focuses his “free” time on growing his real estate investments, his Spanish Internet properties, traveling in Asia and building his personal brand as furious marketer.

Despite his average English, his burning passion for achievement made him accomplish a lot in his 28 years.

Picture of Prashant

Prashant Director of Engineering

Prashant brings many years of experience with technical operations, software engineering and product development from across a variety of Internet companies. He enjoys working in a fast-paced and engineering-driven environment, loves envisioning projects, and is always happy to wear multiple hats in development and systems administration.

He maintains a strong commitment to quality and reliability as well as an enthusiasm for developing MindValley’s technology infrastructure for future growth.

Picture of Kristina

Kristina Director and Founder, MindValley Russia

Kristina was one of the early co-founders of MindValley and handled its legal, financial and accounting systems (all the boring stuff no one else likes to touch). But this is only half the story. Kristina is a philantropist, an entrepreneur, a mother, an investor, an artist, a nomad and a citizen of Estonian.

At this stage of her life, Kristina is building a business around her eclectic life-style of travel and adventure. She is the founder of MindValley Russia, which translates and rebrands MindValley products from the American to the Russian market.

Kristina’s mission in life is to bring the best of personal development to the most marginalized people around the world. Which is why she has been visiting slums and plantations in and around Kuala Lumpur and working with the Burmese refugee women and children. In addition, Kristina and Vishen have an adorable two-year-old son named Hayden.

Picture of Justyna

Justyna Senior Business Manager

Graduating with the highest grade for her Masters in Marketing from Poland and B.A. in Management from U.K., it is of no surprise that this little energy-packed Polish wonder is always striving for higher ground. Justyna’s refusal to accept the sky as the limit has become one of MindValley’s most valuable assets as time and time again, she drives projects to record-breaking ground.

Aptly in charge of overseeing business growth, Justyna brings crucial entrepreneurial skills to the table with her exceptional work experience, ranging from the prestigious Accenture to her own offline and online jewelry making business. With sharp intuition and excellent communication skills, Justyna also negotiates quality partnerships for MindValley, building million dollar businesses in 6 months flat.

Other than making her mark in everything she touches, Justyna’s other passions include impressionism art such as Van Gogh and letting her hair down on the dance floor.

At MindValley, Justyna oversees the growth of her multi-million dollar online business units.

Picture of Alexandra

Alexandra Senior Business Manager

A personal development junkie, marketing goddess and all around thrill-seeker, Alexandra is one of MindValley’s most senior business managers.

When she’s not traveling around the world indulging in her many passions, Alexandra spends her time studying the latest profit-boosting internet marketing trends, executing widely profitable email marketing campaigns and launches (the most recent of which pulled in over half a million dollars) and managing her business unit’s 5 million dollar properties.

Alex’s authenticity, charisma and “tell it like it is” attitude make her a networking genius. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Alex, you’ll understand why people call her personality “magnetic”. Not only is she a pro at connecting with people offline, but she is brilliant at online relationship marketing and has been known to get upwards of 1,500 comments on a single blog post!

Her constant positive attitude, energy and passion for “living it up” make it no wonder that Alex is also MindValley’s Event Manager and is responsible for throwing parties that have been previously described as “legendary” in the press. Having been a ballet, hip hop and jazz dance lover for 13 years, it’s not uncommon to find her busting some serious moves on the dance floor on the weekends.

Although she misses regular snowboard trips to the Rocky Mountains, the trilingual “Canuck” spends her time in Asia doing what she loves most: traveling, yoga, writing, diving, and snapping awe-inspiring photographs.

Picture of Wu Han

Wu Han Chief Designer

Wu Han is MindValley’s design superhero and user interface ninja. He is devotedly obsessed with user experiences on web sites and applications as he is with the cutting edge technology that drives it. He can conduct the symphony orchestra with CSS and HTML and weaves ideas and copy into beautiful web pages.

His technical and aesthetic abilities are bolstered by his varied career experiences which sees him blazing a trail through the kitchen of a top Australian restaurant, a leading pre-publishing firm, a high profile dot-com, an award winning e-learning company and a super-premium interactive agency. He’s designed for K-12 educators, doctors, university professors, consumers, marketers and the rest of the typical 80% demographics—Wu Han has a pretty good idea of what he’s doing and proud of it.

This LEGO-loving, young dad of two still finds the internet exciting despite having been in the industry for over 10 years. Wu Han wants to be famous one day doing what he enjoys everyday—making the web more awesome and inspiring others to do the same.

Picture of Fatemeh

Fatemeh Business Manager

Born in Iran, Fatemeh (a black belt Taekwondo pro) is the first female addition to the technical division of the MindValley team, developing our PHP and Ruby eCommerce applications. Since then, she’s shifted her focus to marketing and she now leads a team responsible for over $4 million in sales online for our “Silva Method” division of products.

The sporty, shisha lover also holds a degree in Software Engineering and an MBA from Multimedia University in Malaysia. Fatemeh’s background in technology combined with her understanding of human psychology and scientific methods of advertising make her a perfect fit for projects that involves multivariable testing and analytics.

Picture of Ewa

Ewa Business Manager

Ewa is like a Polish ninja. One word describes her best – Stealth. Everyday, she waltzes quietly into the office and before you know it, WHAM! the company is buzzing with yet another record breaking launch under her care.

Give Ewa any baby business and she’ll groom and nurture them into some serious muscle-pulling money magnet. Ewa is in charge of MindValley Parenting Business, the Love Or Above product and is also part of the MindValley Leadership team.

Back home Ewa is a professional ski instructor, but since Malaysia never snows, she has taken up diving instead and still continues to travel the globe like a nomad.

Picture of Ajit

Ajit Director, MindValley Printing

Perpetually armed with a laid-back grin and a wisecrack, Ajit makes managing multi-million dollar online businesses look easy. A bachelor of commerce and natural born leader, this goal-driven execution genius has served as local committee president and national committee vice president of AIESEC, branding team leader for one of the biggest media houses in India, and COO for a prominent Indian internet venture, which was named as one of the Hottest Startups In India.

His 8 years of experience span across various industries, including Event Management, Administration, Talent Management, Sales, Branding and Marketing.

Ajit heads our printing operations in India where we manufacture and print personal development products that are shipped to the United States.

Ajit enjoys juggling his professional responsibilities with his other passions, which include traveling, partying, movies, music, and a secret skill only a select few know of… Indian cooking!

Picture of Omar

Omar Senior Copywriter

Better known as “The Centaur” of copywriting, Omar’s writing skills are legendary both for the millions of dollars they bring in and for their compelling ability to persuade. One need merely look at his resume to realize the incredible depth and range of his writing abilities.

From public relations and advertising to publishing, it’s no wonder he’s the head writer for MindValley’s two largest accounts. Yes, this wordsmith could convince a nun she was a penguin.

And if Omar were arrogant enough to display his trophies, you’d see several writing awards including one from John Caples International, the Malaysian Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), the Media Specialists Association (MSA) and a mug that simply says, World’s Biggest Animal Lover.

Just between you and me, rumor also has it superior beings from a far off planet beam profound marketing insights to him via his lower right 3rd molar. He also listens to a lot of dubstep and shares this love via DJing.

Picture of Xinch

Xin-Ci Content and Blogging Team Leader

Organized, creative, and results driven is an understatement. With a brain likened to a supercomputer on steroids, Xinch (as she’s fondly known) manages MindValley’s largest online community, dominates the niches of personal development with a bullwhip, and makes use of the various social media sites to bring in the moolah.

While her mind-manipulating fancies may have faded with the completion of her Psych degree, she’s found new ways to use her understanding of the human mind to sell like a rock star, giving the customers what they want while dazzling them at the same time like Celine Dion in Vegas.

And though she’ll deny it, some have claimed that she is psychic as she seems to know what you need before you ask for it. Because of this uncanny skill, working with her is a cinch (no pun intended).

In order to maintain some semblance of a personal life she blogs on Malaysian politics, travels, is into photography and design, and loves eating, which begs the question, “Why won’t you gain weight, you lucky *****?”

Picture of Khalid

Khalid Application Developer

Hailing from the Middle East, Khalid, a prolific developer and basketball addict, is highly knowledgeable in Data Driven Web-Applications, SSL technologies, J2ME, and MySQL.

He was also a key person behind the sophisticated technicalities of BlinkList, one of the top four social bookmarking tools in the world, which was developed by MindValley.

Ultimately though, Khalid is well-known for his world-class PHP development skills.

Picture of Gabby

Gabby Copywriter/Content Writer

Just look up the word eclectic in the dictionary and you’ll be sure to find her picture there. Coming from a mélange of cultures and experiences, Gabrielle is certainly one multifaceted diamond.

Writing for countless blogs and personalities, it’s amazing she hasn’t already developed a split-personality disorder. But that’s no surprise for someone quoted as saying, “I write to stay sane.”

Gabrielle comes from the land of bacon and maple syrup (Canada) but has also spent time growing up in the States, Malaysia, and Taiwan. A lover of travel, she plans to live in a different country every 2 years.

In her free time she works on her zombie novel, fashion satire blog, and attempts to learn French. Her goal for 2010? To make a documentary and write a sitcom based on MindValley.

Picture of Marney

MarneyProject Manager

Paris, Bangkok, L.A., and the list goes on. This once-upon-a-time farm girl is like a jet setting black-ops agent but instead of political assassinations and recon missions, she’s out spreading her quirky sense of humor, glitter, and her stunning taste in music as DJ Miss Megabyte.

Through a series of strange events known simply as her life, Marney has landed in MindValley as a rock star project manager. Drawing from her rebellious nature and unique perspectives, she spends her time balancing the art and science of marketing by planning and executing product launches, promotions, and relationship marketing strategies.

This cat and unicorn enthusiast is most likely to be found on the dance floor with moves quoted as “recognizable in a crowd of 500” or having some good ol’ hor fun.

Picture of Delphine

Delphine Project Manager

Full of character, sparkling with humor, and loved by all – Delphine shares a lot in common with the world-famous beers found in her home country of Belgium. A high flying Project Manager by day and a party animal by night, Delphine lives her life by one rule – always give 100 percent.

After graduating from a Belgian business school with the highest grade of her promotion, the Belgian Master In Management Science went on to become the first French speaking student to win an award for the best thesis in Belgium (on the subject of Social Media Monitoring & Measurement.)

At MindValley, Delphine lends her perfectionist streak to one of the company’s most profitable businesses, as she works towards doubling its annual revenue by 2011. Outside MindValley, she indulges in a variety of passions, including backpacking and diving all around Asia, meeting new people, photography, cooking, and confusing her colleagues at parties with inexplicable French phrases.

Delphine is also perhaps the only quad-lingual person at MindValley, capable of speaking fluently in French, English, Dutch, and Spanish. We’ve tried asking her how she puts this skill to use, but all she gives us is a mysterious grin…

Picture of Marina

Marina Copywriter, Spanish language sites

Did curiosity kill the cat? Marina’s not buying it. This spirited Argentinian’s hunger for the unknown has taken her on adventures most people only dream of, and given her a unique perspective on life and the best way to live it. In between traveling the world and living in more exotic countries than a veteran Discovery Channel reporter, she has built her marketing expertise by serving a surprisingly diverse range of industries, from insurance and investment to frozen pizzas to point of sales product placement.

Marina draws on her eclectic marketing experience to serve as the head copywriter of MindValley Hispano, where she crafts sales copy, landing pages and e-mailers so sharp, they could be what finally kills that darn cat.

Picture of Nicole

Nicole Accounts & Financials Manager

Nicole is gifted with the power to juggle a lot of things at once. She’s also “gifted” with another bigger power through her unconditional love for million-dollar spreadsheets – playing a critical role in calculating the company’s financials and hence, bonus cheques.

She has the wisdom of Luca Pacioli in taking care of MindValley’s accounts, and also makes sure that our office is ZEN.

Nicole is currently studying at the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in Malaysia’s capital.

Picture of Joanna

Joanna Talent Manager

Joanna’s quest for knowledge took her from Poland to the UK, followed by a successful internship at one of the biggest IT companies in Japan, and then a nonprofit in Thailand.

Deeply passionate about social entrepreneurship and empowering youth to lead more meaningful lives, Joanna also holds a Masters degree in marketing and management.

Picture of Calvin

Calvin Application Developer

Calvin is the Jack-of-all-Trades in anything that is technical. A self confessed techno-gadget addict, Calvin can’t live without anything programmable for more than a week before he suffers withdrawal symptoms.

With an undying love affair towards anything that blinks, bleeps and speaks sweet nothings to him from its 2GB heart, Calvin aspires to be the best inventor Malaysia has ever seen.

Picture of Leanne

Leanne Project Manager

Brimming with infectious energy and bursting with million-dollar ideas, Leanne is living proof that you really can be a jack-of-all-trades and a master of all. Graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce and Management from the University of Alberta, she spent 4 years working for the largest experiential marketing company in North America, where she serviced a variety of Fortune 500s including DaimlerChrysler, Labatt and Proctor & Gamble.

Her strong corporate background positions her as an innovation leader at MindValley, where she sparks and oversees countless business-expanding exercises, including multi-channel marketing, the setting up of an outbound and inbound call center, trend-watching, split testing and many more.

Outside the office, Leanne is everything you’d expect of an energetic soul who simply refuses to be pigeonholed. She’s an avid photographer, a personal development enthusiast, an adventurer and backpacker, and most recently a marathon runner, having just completed her first half marathon in Singapore.

Picture of Julian

Julian Media Expert

Better known as Doctor Gill to his steadily swelling fan base, Julian “The Video Guy” Gill is half multimedia expert, half aspiring digital music producer, and well that’s all because a half and half makes a whole, right? Wrong. Sitting, lurking, scheming in his “lair” (which is really just the dark recording room), Julian frequently jumps out and surprises his colleagues with freestyle raps, potty-mouthed essays, spooky drawings and other random nuggets of twisted creativity that leave everyone wondering exactly who, or what he really is.

What we do know is this: Julian has a fine history in 3D animation, production & pre-production, directing and even design. At MindValley, he’s the culprit behind high-impact videos and multimedia content so visually striking, they could – and have – put many a Hollywood director to shame. Yes, we’re talking to YOU Michael Bay!

Picture of Jade

Jade Public Relations Specialist

Jade loves cats, and in many ways she is one. Slinking effortlessly across the glitzy realms of PR and magazine publishing, the former OK! magazine editor’s calculated business strategies and agility in media management have left countless high-brow clients – including Microsoft, Nike and the Discovery Channel – purring with satisfaction.

Trading in her red carpet pass and champagne glass for a keyboard and a cappuccino, Jade is now in charge of grooming MindValley’s public persona, and uses her vast experience with the media to spread enlightened ideas throughout the internet and beyond.

When no one’s looking, she enjoys cooking (you haven’t lived until you’ve tried her epic Guinness beef stew), reading anything that’s won a Booker prize, and pretending to be Jem, the rockstar cartoon character from the 80’s.

Picture of Irina

Irina Business Manager

Still waters run deep and it’s no different for Irina who hails from the mysterious and beautiful land of Estonia. Just like her home country, this enigmatic lady has much to offer that will impress and amaze even the highest achievers in the field of internet marketing.

With 6 years of experience in sales and marketing, Irina is well armed with not one, but two Masters Degree in both Science in Biomedical Engineering and Business Administration.

She’s well on her way to completing a PhD in Science and has already given several lectures and published several articles to a slew of rapt audience.

At MindValley, Irina is the forefront of MindValley Russia, ruthlessly strategizing and executing dynamic business deals, joint ventures and thousands of groundbreaking sales before moving on to conquer the next opportunities that come her way.

In her free time, this doting mother of one not only hungers for food but also books and growth through personal development. With a passion for travel, Irina has already visited over 30 countries worldwide. She hopes to one day fulfill her biggest dream of establishing a charity consulting company to continue to make a positive change around the globe.

Picture of Tristan

TristanWeb Development

Tristan ended up in MindValley after hitching a ride in a whirlwind of careers ranging from Restaurant Manager to Java Developer, and has travelled the greenish-blue brick road ever since.

In MindValley, Tristan works his magic with a simple click of his Mac keyboard, brilliantly executing even the most complex mock-ups given to him. Since he works pretty darn fast (and he absolutely abhors being unproductive) , he was also made the curator of the MindValley Library, ensuring the fulfillment of customers’ digital orders. He’s also the wizard behind the technical machinations that run the blogs and sites worth many millions of dollars.

Possessing the perfect blend of tech savvy and a cool business sense, Tristan is often called to serve as a translator between the Borg-like efficiency of the tech-team and the party-loving attitude of the project managers. His ability to speak both layman and geek makes him THE most wanted man in the office.

When he’s not tap dancing his fingers on four different keyboards (yes, he actually has four laptops) Tristan struts his stuff on the ballroom dance floor. During his spare time, he dons his slippers and dabbles in the fine art of Ruby programming.

Picture of Natalia

Natalia Community Manager

A rainbow of spice, Natalia is just like her homeland of Ecuador in South America – diverse and blessed with lots of sunshine. Born and bred in the land of the Amazon, this warm and bubbly lass braved the unknown and left home to be an exchange student in the United States.

Upon securing her high school diploma, Natalia returned to the home front, graduated in Marketing and jumped head-first into the rat race while holding on strong to her belief that everyone has a good idea that’s waiting to be discovered.

At MindValley, Natalia delights the world one customer at a time, and prepares herself for her lifelong dream to head structural changes in Latin America through tourism, education and fair trade.

When she’s not busy delighting and inspiring positive change throughout the world, Natalia indulges in travel and meeting new people from all walks of life. When there’s no one around, she likes to curl up with a good book and embark on a literary journey of fiction and history, and travels on words of wisemen past.

Picture of Shaan

Shaan Community Manager

Although he’s a die-hard fan of anything with a trigger or a clutch, Shaan is not your everyday adrenaline junkie. The former Singapore Armed Forces member’s knack for solving problems puts him at the forefront of MindValley’s customer support, as he puts smiles on customer’s faces faster than he can unload his assault rifle’s clip at target practice. His work motto is “Making our customers happy is like driving a purebred muscle car on the race track – there’s no such thing as going too fast.”

Picture of Ozzy

Ozzy PR Director

Ozzy was born in Kate’s Farm in Australia. His father is a midget Poodle named Rambo, his mom is a Labrador Retriever. This PR Whiz-kid is adept at charming the socks off our clients and the media.

Ozzy is the first “Labradoodle” in Malaysia, and the first dog in the country to hold a paid position in e-commerce. When he is not chewing on our laptop cables, Ozzy is in charge of PR.
