They hesitate.
They doubt.
They overthink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in a world where attention = trust = traction, silence is the fastest way to disappear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This newsletter isn\u2019t a list of hacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a call to step up.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I spent years building Mindvalley from behind the scenes.
Wrote the copy. Scaled the business. Changed lives.
But I wasn\u2019t the face of anything\u2014because I didn\u2019t feel ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn\u2019t think I had the look.
Or the voice.
Or the presence.
Or whatever \u201cit\u201d is that thought leaders are supposed to have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spoiler alert: none of that mattered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it took me five key moments to learn that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moments that helped me stop hiding, start sharing, and grow an audience of millions\u2014in a niche people once told me was \u201ctoo small.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And still hiding from social media\u2014overthinking your voice, your face, your age, your accent, your lighting, your cat walking across the screen\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I get it.
Because that was me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what changed everything weren\u2019t tactics.
They were stories.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me tell you the five that changed everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Everything you think you suck at\u2026 Is hackable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The year was 2017. I was at one of our events in Portugal. The theme? “Expand Your Influence.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jay Shetty was there. A former monk turned social media juggernaut. Great voice. Great hair. Looks like he drinks charisma for breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the event, I sat down to interview him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now picture this: Jay\u2019s sitting upright, wearing a perfect outfit, talking like a polished philosopher who moonlights as a GQ model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I looked like I\u2019d just stopped by the clearance rack at H&M.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was interviewing Jay Shetty on how he became a viral superstar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My posture was hunched. My voice was rushed. My shirt had probably been in my closet since the Obama administration. I hadn\u2019t styled my hair. Or maybe I had, but it gave up on me halfway through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At some point, I told him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Jay, I don\u2019t have your look. Or your voice. Or your storytelling style. I\u2019m 40. You\u2019re 32. I\u2019m too old for this. Who’s going to listen to me on Instagram?”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Jay\u2014with his usual kindness and just a hint of \u201cstop being an idiot\u201d\u2014goes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“That\u2019s the silliest thing I\u2019ve ever heard.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then he gave me a crash course in how to show up. Seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He taught me how to slow down my voice. How to sit with intention. How to use a blow dryer (I was 40 and didn\u2019t own one). He literally showed me, step by step, how to get my hair to stand up like his.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This, my friends, was my bromance makeover moment<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And you know what I learned?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything is hackable.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your voice. Your posture. Your presence. Your confidence. Even your hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to be born with it.
You can build<\/em> it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few weeks later I released my first Instagram post for the public.

A few months later I released my first viral video (a campaign ad against Nestle). It received 50 MILLION views. My life was about to change\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And all it took was for a friend to pull me out of my fears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. You\u2019re not trying to reach the world. Just your<\/em> world.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let me tell you something strange about me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Vishen<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m obsessed with Mongol and Hellenistic history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No, really. Obsessed. I once flew to Uzbekistan just to walk the lands where Genghis Khan marched his army. No one asked me to do that. There was no business reason. I just needed to be there. Nerd pilgrimage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And here\u2019s the crazy thing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I follow small social media accounts that post about this stuff. Super niche. Sometimes low production value. But I follow these accounts of historians and tour guides because\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They speak to me.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019re not trying to be for everyone. They\u2019re for people like me<\/em>. Central Asia history nerds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s the real secret of social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to be the next Tony Robbins or Marie Forleo or Alex Hormozi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You just have to be you<\/em>\u2014loud enough for your people to find you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s the biggest mindset shift I had to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re not posting to impress the masses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re posting to attract the weirdos who see the world like you do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And trust me, they\u2019re out there.<\/strong> Probably scrolling right now. Waiting for a voice like yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter how small or weird your passion. There are people just like you out there (fellow weirdos in the best way) waiting for you to share. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. How losing everything made me step up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s rewind to 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mindvalley had just lost its biggest revenue-generating program: The Silva Method.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten years of partnership. Gone. Just like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new CEO of Silva decided to take it all in-house. Poached two of my employees. Cut me out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wasn\u2019t just a business hit. It was personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started losing money. Fast. I had to lay off 18 employees in Argentina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I remember sitting there thinking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have no main author. I have no program. I have no face for the company.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then, life forced the question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat if the face\u2026 is me<\/em>?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d already paid $10,000 to a book marketer. I asked him for a refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said no.
But he offered me something better:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy don\u2019t you write the book yourself?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That book was The Code of the Extraordinary Mind<\/em><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It went on to become a global bestseller.
Hit #1 on Kindle.
It was translated into over 25 languages.
It opened doors I never imagined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But here\u2019s the real moral of the story:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you lose the platform, become the platform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrepreneurship isn\u2019t about being safe. It\u2019s about being seen<\/em>. Especially when everything feels uncertain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you been behind the scenes? Are you truly happy there? Do you feel there\u2019s something prodding you to step up, to get on stage, to speak out your thoughts? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps it\u2019s time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. No one f*cking cares. Just start.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let me introduce you to Klemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Klemen is from Slovenia. He used to work at Mindvalley. He\u2019s also one of the most courageous students I\u2019ve seen in our Social Media Mastery program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because in Week 1\u2014before we even taught him anything\u2014he posted his first video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His outfit? Let\u2019s just say… it could\u2019ve been a shepherd’s costume.
His accent? Heavy.
His lighting? Boldly experimental.
His delivery? Honest and raw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was it perfect? No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was it viral? Also no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your tribe doesn\u2019t want a brand.
They want a human.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start awkward.
Start shaky.
Start cringe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. The hair dryer that taught me the 3-second rule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Want to know what one of the most viral videos I ever made was about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically\u2014a joke video on how I get my hair to stand up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jay Shetty trained me. (Yes, really.) He showed me the trick with warm and cold blow-drying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So one day, I decided to film a video explaining it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I didn\u2019t open with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHey guys, let me tell you how I style my hair.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I opened with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the weirdest thing Jay Shetty ever taught me\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boom. Hook.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have 3 seconds to stop the scroll.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most people start with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHi, I\u2019m Sarah, and today I want to talk to you about\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No one hears the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if you open with something unexpected, weird, or curious\u2014now you\u2019ve got them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 3-second rule isn\u2019t just a trick. It\u2019s a superpower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s an example\u2014this video about our upcoming Social Media Summit is crushing it in ads. All because I started in a way that\u2019s weird and unexpected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
