And this\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallup.com\/businessjournal\/163130\/employee-engagement-drives-growth.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2008 Gallup Consulting study<\/a>\u00a0concluded that employee engagement is a force that drives business outcomes and that engaged employees are\u00a0<strong>more productive, profitable, and customer-focused<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Shawn Achor, author of&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Happiness-Advantage-Principles-Psychology-Performance\/dp\/0307591549\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Happiness Advantage: The Seven Principles of Positive Psychology That Fuel Success and Performance at Work<\/a><\/em>, 95% of people who give no social support at work have no work engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, true work-altruists (those who provide the most) are about ten times as likely to be highly engaged in their work\u2014and therefore, productive\u2014than work-isolators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tom Rath, the author of the best-selling&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Vital-Friends-People-Afford-Without\/dp\/1595620079\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vital Friends: The People You Can\u2019t Afford to Live Without<\/a><\/em>, found that people who have a best friend at work are seven times as likely to be engaged in their job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallup.com\/businessjournal\/787\/collective-advantage.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study by Gallup Consulting<\/a>&nbsp;discovered that 75% of participants who had a best friend at work planned to be with their companies for at least another year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In short, LOVE matters. Even in the workplace.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note: This will shift your company culture and you will continue doing this every year. The name you draw is your human, which makes you their secret angel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your duty as a Secret Angel is to show love and appreciation for your human throughout Love Week in creative, mysterious, and secretive ways. You do this anonymously!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Can\u2019t get your entire company to participate in Love Week? Do it just within your department or with your team. Small actions will have a \u201cdomino effect\u201d on others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-2-find-out-about-your-human\">Step 2: Find out about your \u201chuman\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t have to spend lavish amounts to show your \u201chuman\u201d love and appreciation! It\u2019s always the thought and effort that counts. If you already know your human, you\u2019ll be able to know what they love, enjoy, and favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you don\u2019t know your human that well, this is a great opportunity to get to know someone better. Ask their friends what they like and dislike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Mindvalley, we check our Human\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mindvalley.com\/goal-setting-redefined\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3 Most Important Questions<\/a>&nbsp;to find out their goals and dreams. Then you can surprise them with their favorite coffee or decorate their desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-3-be-creative\">Step 3: Be creative!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flowers are great but don\u2019t limit yourself. Have fun! Collaborate with other secret angels to brainstorm and execute your gifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some ideas:\u00a0Compile love notes from their friends, create a Spotify playlist, send them empowering quotes, set up a temporary Tumblr account dedicated to them, or create a customized (anonymous) Pinterest board of their goals and interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ideas are infinite. Take a look at the gallery below to see what people did at Mindvalley during Love Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-4-deliver-and-document-but-don-t-reveal\">Step 4: Deliver and document but don\u2019t reveal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There should be a surprise for your human every day of Love Week. Delivering gifts can sometimes be tricky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We suggest sending another person to serenade your \u201cHuman,\u201d deliver a gift or have a work friend recite a favorite poem or quote on your behalf. That way, you don\u2019t end up accidentally revealing your identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019ve arranged a special moment, get another person to capture it on\u00a0camera. And remember that while you are a secret angel, you\u2019ll be receiving love and appreciation from him or her all week long. Take pictures of all of it\u2014trust us, you\u2019ll want them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-5-meet-your-angel-and-human\">Step 5: Meet your angel and human<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After Love Weekends, you get to reveal your identity to your human and find out who your secret angel is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Mindvalley, for instance, we do this at our weekly team meeting, and it\u2019s always a beautiful sight to see the surprise, love, and genuine gratitude that follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-6-share-the-love\">Step 6: Share the love<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t have to stop there. Turn Love Week into your own personal campaign! Perform random acts of kindness to a stranger, volunteer at a local community, or even show the environment some love each day of Love Week, or donate to a cause you feel strongly about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be your own \u201csecret angel\u201d and make Love Week a week of self-love and appreciation for yourself. Head to the spa, take an hour off to do something you absolutely love doing or treat yourself to that must-have that you\u2019ve been eyeing for a while now. We\u2019ve always shared photos of our company celebrations with our customers, but we never thought of turning it into a campaign to get other companies and communities to experience the awesomeness of Love Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then in February 2014, Vishen pretty much barged into the Jedi meeting room and went, \u201cLet\u2019s launch a Love Week global movement!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We all jumped at the idea. Mind you, this was exactly one week before the actual Love Week.&nbsp;But hey \u2013 challenge accepted!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And love was definitely on our side. Since then, all our Love Week\u2019s have been awesome (of course) and memorable for us\u2014because we celebrated it with all of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over 12,000 Facebook shares and hundreds of tweets and comments later, we attracted the attention of Huffington Post, as written by blogger and author Karin Volo (who also featured Mindvalley in her book&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theengagebook.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Engage!<\/a>). Here\u2019s an excerpt from her wonderful piece:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everyone in the company (or department or group\u2014whatever may apply to your situation) selects a name that is kept secret. Then they do nice things for that person all week long. They are giving to their secret friend and they are also receiving from someone else but they don\u2019t know who it is either. the Aveda Institute, leading fitness gym Orange Theory, locally-owned hair salons and flower shops, Radio Orange from India, a creative collective from Zimbabwe, and a digital agency in Milano all have in common?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, they\u2019re just some of the thousands of organizations that have participated in Love Week and have seen beautiful
