To do that well, your client\u00a0<em data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">must<\/em> trust you, and the best way to create that level of trust and connection is to build <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindvalley.com\/blog\/building-rapport-with-your-clients-powerful-methods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uw-styling-context=\"true\" aria-label=\"rapport - opens in new tab\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"false\" data-uw-rm-ext-link=\"na\">rapport<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 2: Share stories<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Sharing stories is an effective way to help clients view their challenges or problems from a fresh perspective, and they are powerful change-makers.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 3: Set intentions<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Setting clear intentions at the start of your journey with a new client not only creates clear expectations but also helps you track progress over the long term. You and your client will be able to see the magic and the results of your work together.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 4: Stay present<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Extraordinary coaching requires a lot of energy, and staying present at all times can be very stressful. Which is why you need rituals that are right for you and will help you get back into the present moment, again and again.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 5: Don\u2019t get attached<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">If you notice yourself getting upset or worked up based on a client session, it means you are too attached to your client\u2019s outcome. As a coach, you can instigate and support the process for change, but you cannot guarantee results. So\u00a0let go of your client\u2019s outcome.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 6: Be you<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">When a client decides to work with you, they have decided to work with<em data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">\u00a0you<\/em>. Not anyone else. Make sure you bring all of the real you into your extraordinary coaching sessions.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 7: Be brave<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">It\u2019s easy to feel intimidated and to let your fears guide your <a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mindvalley.com\/ultimate-guide-to-transformational-coaching-sessions?utm_source=blog_hyperlink&amp;utm_campaign=evergreen_csp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uw-styling-context=\"true\" aria-label=\"coaching sessions - opens in new tab\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"false\" data-uw-rm-ext-link=\"na\">coaching sessions<\/a>. So it\u2019s crucial to be brave and allow yourself to ask questions that you would otherwise be hesitant to ask.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 8: It\u2019s not about you\u2026<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Remember: It\u2019s not about your systems and strategies or how good you are at what you do. None of it is about you; it\u2019s about your client. You are there to serve them.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 9: Don\u2019t judge<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Sooner or later, your client is going to make choices or do something you feel is wrong. Understand that our beliefs are biased and your client is sharing openly with you because they trust that you will not judge. So don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<h2 data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">Principle 10: Don\u2019t make ass-umptions<\/h2>\n<p data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">When we make an assumption, we are making an ass of ourselves and of the person we are coaching. So, don\u2019t do it.
