Empowered 1,500 people with AI and promoted to newly created role

Quick summary

After investing 2,000 hours mastering AI, Karim set a public mission to empower 10,000 people—rejecting fear-based adoption for human-centered transformation. His keynote reached 1,000+ globally, he trained 450+ AMD employees, earned a promotion to Applied AI Architect, and is now scaling AI enablement across an entire Fortune 500 business unit.

Achievements:

- Set public mission: Empower 10,000 people with AI. Currently at 1,500 and accelerating.

- Delivered keynote at Illoominate 2025: "Watering the Roots: The Human Foundation of AI Success" reaching 50 live attendees and 1,000+ globally online

- Keynote impact led to podcast invitation extending the empowerment mission

- Trained 450+ AMD employees across multiple sessions: 200 (Jan 2025), 150 (Jan 2026), plus ongoing sessions reaching 100+ more

- Promoted to Applied AI Architect at AMD—a role created to scale this impact across the organization

- Now chartered to enable AMD's entire Data Center Platform Engineering Group to meet CEO Lisa Su's mandate for AI Adoption

- Discovered vibe-coded HTML executive dashboards—democratizing data visualization without PowerBI or data engineering expertise

- Received testimonial: "Your speech changed my life."

Tools:

Training & Enablement: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini for digital twin development Dashboard Innovation: Vibe-coded HTML replacing traditional BI dependencies Presentation & Content: Gamma, Adobe Creative Suite, Airtable for workshop materials

Communication: LinkedIn for public documentation inspiring internal colleagues to experiment.

Methodology:

Philosophy: "Use AI or you'll be replaced" is just bullshit. Fear doesn't transform. Fear paralyzes.

My alternative: Empower people to partner with AI on their terms. Not scaring them into compliance. Not leaving anyone behind. Not telling anyone they're obsolete.

The formula:

2,000 hours invested mastering AI → 1,500 peers empowered through knowledge sharing → Champions emerging who build MORE champions.

One person.

One peer.

One team.

One organization.

At a time.

Externally: The Illoominate keynote was to remind people they always have permission to start.

The workshop taught practical prompting, but the real impact was shifting mindsets from "AI is too complex for me" to "I can do this."

Internally at AMD:

Enterprise AI adoption gaps are to address the many peers and leaders that are willing to learn more about AI, but the path has not been clear. And they are frustrated they have not been given any guidance on where to start.

I established a "no stupid questions" culture through brown bag sessions and open Q&A forums.

The vibe-coded dashboard discovery was transformational:

Leaders waiting weeks for BI capacity could visualize their data within days using approaches they could learn themselves.

I've had my former and current managers state multiple times that my work in a matter of hours with AI saved them weeks and months of effort.

Learnings:

My manager watched my public LinkedIn journey for a full year before recruiting me to bring that energy inside AMD. Empowering others publicly gave internal colleagues permission to experiment.

Now I'm enabling my peers, teams and organizations in architecting AI adoption. For AMD's entire Data Center Platform Engineering Group business unit aligned to our CEO's strategic mandate.

The mission scales, but the philosophy stays constant: No human left behind.

1,500 down. 8,500 to go.
