They built an AI workflow that hands time back for family, health and hobbies
A daily system of AI tools and Make automations that cuts manual work so more time goes to family, health and hobbies.
This student set out to make AI do the repetitive parts of their work, and came away with a working daily system built around ChatGPT, Perplexity, Otter and Make. What makes it remarkable is the reason behind it: not more output for its own sake, but more hours for the people and things they care about. It is a clear picture of what practical AI skills can give back.
AI-Driven Workflow Mastery
Before
Their days were full of manual effort: brainstorming, research, transcribing meetings and videos, and producing blogs, social posts and instructional videos. Each task took hands-on time. That left less room for the personal priorities they name as family, health and hobbies.
“Streamlining workflows with AI frees up time for personal priorities.”

The turning point
In the program they started treating automation as a creative challenge, even gamifying the work of building it. They learned to combine tools for specific jobs: ChatGPT for ideas and problem-solving, Perplexity for reliable research, Claude for coding and Otter for transcription. Make became the place where they built AI scenarios that tie it all together.
“Gamifying automation tasks as a creative and engaging challenge.”

After
Now their day starts with ChatGPT for brainstorming, moves to Perplexity for research, and runs repetitive tasks through Make automations. Transcription flows feed straight into their content, from blogs to videos. They have also begun building more advanced features, such as Chrome extensions for transcribing and summarizing anything.
What it lets people do
Their workflow turns recorded meetings and videos into transcripts and summaries that become content with far less manual effort. It lets one person research, create and publish across channels while keeping their own tone, thanks to personalized AI avatars and tone-matched outputs.
What they learned
They found that streamlining work with AI is really about freeing time for life outside it. The right mix of tools, each matched to a specific use, does more than any single tool, and trying new things keeps the ideas coming.
“Experimentation with new tools and features (e.g., Chrome extensions) fosters innovation.”
