A business analysis teacher built an AI mentor for students with Claude Code
A three-tier app where business analysis students work through a project guided by an expert AI Business Analyst, built with Claude Code.
This course creator wanted their Business Analysis students to have an expert at their side while working through a real project. After an early attempt stalled under too many moving parts, they found a new way to direct the build and turned their vision into a working three-tier application. It is a clear example of a teacher using AI to extend what they can offer their students.
AI Business Analyst Mentoring Application
Before
They teach a Business Analysis course and wanted each student to be mentored through a project by an expert. Their first attempt used n8n to build an agentic AI mentor. It quickly became complicated, with several steps to consider before anything would work.

The turning point
They watched a few videos about Claude Skills and the Claude.md file as a way to direct a project, and decided to try it. They wrote a Claude.md file describing the outcome of the three-tier application they wanted. Claude used it to draft a project plan, which they tweaked before Claude built the application.
After
They now have a working three-tier application running in their test environment on their PC. Students of their course can run through a project while an AI Business Analyst mentors them. They moved from wrestling with workflow steps to directing a build by describing the outcome they wanted.
What it lets people do
The application gives business analysis students a mentor to learn alongside as they work through a project. Instead of practising alone, they get guidance from an expert AI Business Analyst at each stage.
What they learned
They learned that describing the outcome clearly can matter more than assembling every step by hand. A well-written Claude.md file turned their vision into a plan they could shape, and then into a working app.
