Built two AI assistants from concept to working prototype with user validation

Quick summary

They created two specialized AI assistants—one trained on coaching methodologies and another on psychotherapeutic literature—to support professionals in their practice. Through human-centered design and testing with 10 users, they built functional prototypes that received positive feedback and developed comprehensive roadmaps for both B2B and B2C markets.

Achievements

- Developed two AI agents tailored for different contexts and user groups:

- AI Coach: Trained on coaching methodologies to provide flash consultations to individuals and supporting professional coaches in their practice later.

- AI Mentor: Trained on hundreds of psychotherapeutic books and articles, designed to behave as a mentor for psychotherapists

- Built a website introducing the product and integrating the AI assistants for seamless user interactions.

- Adopted a human-centred design approach, testing concepts and prototypes with users early and often to shape the design and functionality of both AI assistants.

- Prototyped and tested with 10 users (5 per assistant), receiving positive feedback regarding the value it could deliver, the quality of responses and the tone of voice, which is documented in testimonials on the website.

- Defined roadmaps for B2B and B2C markets, outlining phased evolution for each product.

Tools

- OpenAI: Developed custom assistants trained with curated content from hundreds of books and articles, programmed for tailored behaviour.

- Flowise: Created chatflow agents to:

- Interact with users.

- Generate summaries (MVP), transcripts, and action plans (later).

- Collect and manage user contact details.

- Make.com: Generate and send emails of summaries and user contact management.

- Google Sheets: Data storage for user interactions and conversation history (Planned: Airtable)

- Squarespace: Built and hosted the project website.

- Perplexity AI: Conducted competitor analysis to refine positioning

- ChatGPT: Assisted in proposition refinement and branding strategies.

- Canva: Designed logos and visual branding elements.

- Miro: Product Planning and management

Methodology

We employed a collaborative, step-by-step approach:

1. Product Development

- Brainstormed core functionalities for each assistant and defined personas.

- Structured features into building blocks.

2. Solution Design

- Mapped end-to-end customer journeys

- Developed process flows to prioritise actions and processes.

- Selected appropriate AI models and SaaS tools for implementation.

3. Project and Business Roadmap

- Categorised opportunities into B2C, B2B, and B2B2C markets.

- Designed a phased business model for market entry and scaling (high-level)

- Outlined deliverables for staged product releases.

Supporting documentation of these steps is attached.

Learnings

Human-Centred AI

- Gained deeper insights into aligning AI solutions with real human needs through continuous feedback loops.

Agile Approach

- Validated the importance of rapid prototyping and testing to refine AI products.

Solution Architecture

- Realised the critical role of designing holistic customer journeys, backed by seamless processes and robust technology platforms.

Technical Challenges

- Learned the necessity of anticipating troubleshooting needs and implementing robust recovery plans to ensure solution availability.
