Dan Wang built an AI system that designs and supervises its own agents

AIDAN designs, deploys and supervises AI agents that work together, remember context and use tools, with audit logs built in.

Dan Wang set out to build something ambitious: an AI system that does more than answer questions. AIDAN creates its own team of agents, coordinates them across voice, text, web and APIs, and keeps a clear record of every decision. It is a story about taking on a hard problem and designing for safety from the start.

AIDAN

Before

The submission describes a familiar problem: work that stalls on manual steps and human bottlenecks. Planning and execution depended on people moving tasks from one tool to the next. Dan wanted a system that could carry that load on its own without becoming a black box.

“AIDAN acts with minimal human intervention, demonstrates agent-to-agent coordination, and showcases the ability to scale autonomy across domains (voice, text, web, and APIs) while maintaining safety and auditability.”

In their own words

The turning point

During the program, Dan brought the pieces together into one project. Using OpenClaw, ElevenLabs voice tools, AI agents and APIs, they shaped a system built around memory-based planning and cross-tool orchestration. They also chose to treat safety as a core feature rather than an afterthought.

After

Dan now has AIDAN, an autonomous system that designs, deploys and supervises collaborating agents with minimal human intervention. The agents coordinate with each other, draw on memory for their tasks and work across several domains. Every step leaves a transparent decision trail, runs in a sandbox and operates with restricted privileges.

What it lets people do

AIDAN lets people hand off multi-step workflows to a team of agents that plan and act together. It is meant to cut manual steps and speed up planning and execution, while audit logs let a human see exactly what happened and why.

What they learned

Dan's work shows that autonomy and accountability can grow together. Scaling what agents can do went hand in hand, for them, with transparent decision trails and limits on what each agent is allowed to touch.

AIDAN was built during AI Mastery.
