A student built an automation that sorts Amazon purchases and saves hours
An automation that pulls Amazon order history and categorizes every purchase, turning a monthly chore into a quick run.
This student took a tedious monthly task, sorting through Amazon purchases, and built a working automation to do it for them. They documented the whole journey, from the first build to real debugging and a first production run. It is a clear example of someone turning a small daily frustration into a tool of their own.
Amazon Scrubber Agent
Before
Every month, their Amazon purchases had to be sorted and categorized. It was the kind of repetitive work that quietly ate hours. The task was necessary, but it took time they would rather spend elsewhere.
The turning point
During the program they decided to build something to handle it. They worked through the build step by step, wrote the code, and met real debugging challenges along the way. They kept notes on each stage, from setup to troubleshooting.
After
They now have a working automation, the Amazon Scrubber, that gathers their order history and produces a categorized spreadsheet. They completed a first production run and wrote up its results and known limitations. They also prepared a presentation with before-and-after screenshots showing the workflow in action.
What it lets people do
The tool takes a list of Amazon orders and sorts each purchase into categories automatically. What used to take hours of manual sorting each month becomes a short, repeatable run.
What they learned
Building it showed them that a real tool comes from working through problems, not avoiding them. By documenting the setup, the fixes and the limits honestly, they turned a one-off script into something they understand and can keep improving.
Amazon Scrubber Agent was built during AI Mastery.
