Two recorded conversations became a full coffee-ordering prototype and roadmap
Starting from two transcribed voice conversations, they built an interactive prototype that lets Café Carey customers design their own coffee.
This student began with nothing more than an idea spoken out loud and recorded. Through a structured, AI-assisted discovery process they turned it into a working prototype, a full product requirements document and a roadmap for a café's digital relaunch. It shows how far a spoken idea can travel when you learn to give it shape.
Café Carey custom coffee prototype
Before
The project started as an idea captured in voice recordings, two conversations later transcribed into text. There was no defined product yet, no screens, no rules for how ordering would work. Café Carey also needed a wider digital foundation, from its online shop to its brand and labels.
“Transformed an initial voice-recorded idea into a fully defined digital product.”

The turning point
In the program they worked through a structured product discovery process, using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude Design and Claude Code alongside Figma and Git. The conversations became a formal Product Requirements Document covering user experience, business rules, configuration logic, payment flow and technical needs. Defining it all first cut the ambiguity before any building began.
“Reduced ambiguity before development through structured discovery.”

After
They delivered a functional interactive prototype, a version-controlled PRD, technical documentation and a clear implementation roadmap. The work also laid groundwork for relaunching Café Carey's WordPress site, its brand strategy, product labelling and the preparation of a new brand, Chupacabra Coffee.
What it lets people do
Customers can build their own coffee by choosing the blend, brewing method, packaging and optional add-ons, then move through checkout smoothly. Progress is saved locally so an interrupted session does not lead to duplicate orders.
What they learned
They found that talking an idea through can be a real way to validate it, and that AI-assisted workflows can speed up the slow work of defining a product. Above all, they learned to connect business strategy with technical execution before writing code.
“Demonstrated how AI can transform an idea into an implementation-ready product.”
In their own words
Café Carey custom coffee prototype was built during AI Mastery.
