With no Python skills, they built a system that finds trading leads every

A student with no Python knowledge built a system that scans a paper trading account for commodity spread leads and delivers a list each morning.

This student set out to put their Investment Mastery 2025 lessons to work and ended up building an automated system, without knowing Python. They simply told Claude what they wanted and followed along. Their story shows that the gap between learning a strategy and running it daily can be smaller than it looks.

Junko Yokoyama
An Investment Mastery 2025 student exploring commodity spreads, with no coding background.

Automated commodity spread lead finder

Before

They had learned how to look for commodity spread opportunities in Investment Mastery 2025. But they had no special knowledge or skills in Python. Turning that method into something that ran on its own seemed to call for a skill set they did not have.

“I can set up an automated system without special knowledge or skills of Python.”

In their own words

The turning point

Using what the program taught about finding spreads, they described what they wanted to Claude and followed its directions step by step. They chose to connect the system to their Interactive Brokers paper account, so it would be safe while still using the same live data. Once it worked, they went further and asked Claude how to improve it and what risks to watch for.

“I just followed Claude's directions after I told what I wanted.”

In their own words

After

Now a system they set up themselves searches for potential commodity spread leads and sends a lead list to their computer every morning at a set time. Challenging the AI with follow-up questions made the system much more reliable. They also keep an artifact from Claude as a guide and reminder of how it all works.

What it lets people do

The system does the daily searching for them, applying the program's approach to commodity spreads and handing over a ready list of leads each morning. Because it runs on a paper account, they can test and refine their approach without risking real money.

What they learned

They learned that building an automated tool does not require being a programmer, only a clear idea of what you want. Just as important, they found that the best results come from pushing the AI further with questions about improvements and risks.

“I learned that I need to challenge AI, to achieve the best result!”

In their own words

Automated commodity spread lead finder was built during AI Mastery.

'- Achievements: Established a system that accesses my InteractiveBroker paper account and search potential leads (commodity spreads) based on what was taught in the Investment Mastery 2025, and notify my computer a lead list every morning at a designated time. It's safe because it connects a paper account, not actual account(but the data for search leads is same and effective). - Tools: Claude chat, Python - Learnings: I can set up an automated system without special knowledge or skills of Python. I just followed Claude's directions after I told what I wanted. Also, I asked Claude after finishing the system set up, "Is there anything that can improve this system?""What are the risks of this system I should take care of?". They worked very well and my system became much more reliable and better. I learned that I need to challenge AI, to achieve the best result! - URL: I don't know how to share all these chats with Claude. Instead, I have an artifact, although it doesn't contain all the process I took. It's like a guidance and reminder of my system, I feel.
