Project Overview

Digital Gavin is an AI-powered growth coaching application designed to make high-quality coaching accessible, affordable, and emotionally safe — anytime, anywhere.

Built as a digital twin of myself, a coach, founder, and investor with 20+ years of real-world experience, Digital Gavin combines large language models (Chatgpt) with real coaching case knowledge and a human voice interface (Eleven Labs). The goal is not to replace human coaching, but to expand its reach to a younger and underserved audience who may not be ready — financially or emotionally — for traditional 1-on-1 coaching.

This project explores how AI can be used not just for productivity, but for human clarity, decision-making, and personal growth at scale.

Achievements

- Replit– Used for no-code / low-code development, rapid prototyping, and deployment

- OpenAI (Chatgpt) – Core reasoning engine powering coaching conversations, trained with real case patterns and frameworks

- ElevenLabs – High-fidelity voice cloning to create a natural, human coaching voice experience

- Prompt engineering and iterative testing to align AI responses with real coaching tone, ethics, and depth

Methodology

The methodology behind Digital Gavin blends human coaching principles with AI system design:

1. Knowledge Distillation

2. My real coaching experience, frameworks, and client case patterns were distilled into structured prompts and behavioral guidelines.

3. Contextual Coaching Design

4. Instead of generic advice, responses are shaped around real-life scenarios, decision tension, emotional nuance, and reflective questioning — similar to live coaching.

5. Human-First AI

6. The system prioritizes emotional safety, non-judgment, and clarity over productivity hacks or surface-level motivation.

7. Iterative Refinement

8. Hundreds of hours were spent testing, refining prompts, and calibrating tone to ensure the AI feels supportive, grounded, and human — not robotic or generic.

Key Learnings

- Combining Replit, OpenAI, and ElevenLabs made it possible for a solo creator to build a billable market-ready product.

- Creativity is the real limitation — not technology

- A live example where AI becomes powerful when paired with lived experience - The quality of outputs improved dramatically when real coaching cases and human wisdom were embedded into the system.

- Learnt to be self sufficient - ChatGPT is not just a tool, but a tutor - AI served as a guide throughout the building process — enabling learning, debugging, and product thinking in real time.
