A real-estate developer with no coding background shipped five products

After 18 years in commercial real estate and no computer science class, they built a website, a working demo app, a page generator and more.

For 18 years this founder developed commercial real estate, and code felt like the farthest thing they could do. Between April and August 2026 they shipped five builds for their two-person leadership company, in what they call a language they do not speak. Their story shows how far clear thinking and precise description can take someone who starts from zero.

GOOD MIND NOW: MindTrek demo, page generator and MindTrip

Before

Their training was finance and real estate, and they had never taken a computer science class. Their company, GOOD MIND NOW, makes the MindTrek, a short immersive audio experience for leaders, but prospects could not judge an audio experience from a description. With two founders and no budget for engineers, a developer was out of reach, and a template could not handle a MindTrek, which is a sequence, not a page.

“Before this year, code development sounded like the farthest thing I could be capable of.”

The turning point

They decided to build it themselves, using Claude as their team. The key move was putting the brand system before any code: a full specification of colours, type, spacing and voice, written first in Claude Design. From there they followed a steady rhythm, a vision session, then design, then mock-up and launch in Claude Code.

“So I built it myself, in a language I do not speak.”

In their own words

After

They shipped the company's marketing site, a working demo application with intention capture, streaming audio, an integration instrument and a diagnostic readout, and a consumer prototype called MindTrip. Once the demo was built by hand, they saw the pattern and built a MindTrek Page Generator, the tool that needed the least code. Their 11-year-old son now builds Roblox games in Claude Code too.

What it lets people do

Prospects can now go through a MindTrek end to end instead of reading about it, and finish with a readout mapped to a three-part leadership framework. Each new MindTrek gets its own complete page from the generator, without being built by hand.

What they learned

They learned that the real skill was not writing code but describing what they wanted precisely enough that it gets made. Setting the rules first, in one brand document, let every build stay consistent and let patterns turn into tools.

“He is not being taught to code. He is being taught to describe what he wants precisely enough that it gets made.”

I have no technical background. My training is finance and real estate. I spent 18 years developing commercial real estate, and I have never taken a computer science class. Before this year, code development sounded like the farthest thing I could be capable of. My company is GOOD MIND NOW, a leadership performance company. Our product is the MindTrek: an under-20-minute immersive audio experience that installs leadership frameworks through storytelling, nervous system regulation and emotional anchoring rather than instruction. Two founders. No engineering hires and no budget for them. Prospects could not evaluate an audio experience from a description, and the experience itself is high touch by design. We needed something a prospect could complete end to end, and we needed a new one every time we produced a MindTrek The traditional answer is hire a developer or buy a template. A developer we could not afford. A template could not do what we needed, because a MindTrek is not a page. It is a sequence with an instrument on each side of it. So I built it myself, in a language I do not speak. Tools I used: Claude Code - 5 builds. Website, demo application, page generator, B2C prototype, Roblox games. Claude Design - the brand specification that every build was written against. Claude (chat, Projects, Skills) Specification drafting, architecture decisions, debugging conversations, and the custom skills that govern voice and brand in generated output. Roblox Studio MCP integration Live building inside Studio from Claude Code. Claude Cowork - Repetitive scheduled work and task manager Between April and August 2026 I shipped: 1. goodmindnow.com — the production marketing site for our company, built in Claude Code against a brand specification generated in Claude Design 2. demo.goodmindnow.com — a working web application, not a landing page: pre-experience intention capture, streaming audio delivery, a post-experience integration instrument, and a diagnostic readout that maps responses to a three-part leadership framework 3. A MindTrek Page Generator — a tool that produces a complete experience page for any new MindTrek in our product line, rather than my building each one by hand. The MindTrek Page Generator is the surprising addition that organically came to be, and it is the one that required the least code. Once I had built the demo experience by hand, the pattern was visible: every MindTrek needs the same structure with different content. So I built a tool that takes a new Trek and produces its customized page. 4. A B2C application prototype "Mindtrip" — a consumer-facing concept built on the same brand system, testing a future product line for a company currently positioned B2B 5. Vibe coding a Roblox game — An unintended consequence, my 11-year-old son now builds Roblox games in Claude Code with Roblox Studio integration. We shared with him what is possible and challenged him to try it out. He is not being taught to code. He is being taught to describe what he wants precisely enough that it gets made. --- Methodology 1. The brand system came before any code. I generated a complete brand specification in Claude Design first: color values, typography scale, logo rules, spacing, voice. Then every build was written against that same document. 2. Vision session with Claude.ai, 3. Design with Claude Design, 4. Mock-up and launch with Claude Code.
