A daytime photo of an Edmonton bridge became a whole brand under the aurora
A website with Cal.com booking, built around one photo of a local bridge, reimagined at night with Northern Lights shaped like a hard hat.
This student took an everyday photo of a bridge in Edmonton and turned it into the heart of their own brand. With AI editing, the daytime scene became a night sky where the Northern Lights form a hard hat, and that image now anchors their homepage, logo and branding documents. It is a lovely example of how one creative idea, followed through, can become a real website.
Before
They started with a simple daytime photo of one of the local bridges in Edmonton. They wanted a website and a brand of their own, but had nothing yet to tie it all together. Alongside it, a second project was waiting too.
“I took a photo of one of the local bridges in Edmonton during the day.”

The turning point
During the program they learned to use AI as a creative partner. They asked ChatGPT to transform the daytime photo into a nighttime scene, with the Northern Lights forming a hard hat in the sky. That single image gave the whole project its identity.
“Used ChatGBT to edit the photo to make it nighttime lighting with the Northern Lights in the sky that form a hard hat.”

After
They now have their own website, nearly finished, with a booking tool connected through Cal.com. The aurora image sits on the homepage and became their logo, and they created their own branding and logo documents to match. They worked for days to bring it close to done.
What it lets people do
Visitors land on a homepage with a striking local image that says something about who the work is for. The connected booking tool lets people schedule time directly, without back-and-forth messages.
What they learned
They learned that a familiar place can become a distinctive brand when you add imagination and the right tools. They also learned to keep going when tools fail, sharing screenshots and finishing what they could, with gratitude for what they had been taught.
“Thank you for all you taught me.”
