A business owner turned a crowded inbox into a reusable audit system
A reusable Claude Skill that audited 200 email threads across 114 senders, counting who sends rather than reading what they say.
This student took on a problem almost everyone shares: an inbox that has quietly filled up over the years. Instead of cleaning it once by hand, they built a reusable Claude Skill that audits mailing lists, then started shaping a daily morning review on top of it. It is a clear example of turning one personal headache into a system that keeps working.
Gmail Inbox Cleanup & Sender Audit
Before
They were running more than one Gmail account, with business email for their own company in the mix. One account was full of old affiliate site emails that still needed a manual review. Subscriptions and important messages sat side by side, and there was no simple way to decide what to keep.
“Sender-frequency counting (not content summarizing) to drive unsubscribe decisions; documented MCP tool patterns for search, pagination, and CSV export.”

The turning point
Working with Claude cowork alongside ChatGPT and Google Drive, they chose a sharp method: count how often each sender appears instead of summarising content. That single decision made unsubscribe choices clear. They also documented the tool patterns for search, pagination and CSV export so the process could be repeated.
After
They built a reusable Gmail mailing-list audit Skill and ran a full audit of 200 threads from 114 senders, saved as a CSV in Google Drive. They scoped a wider cleanup and automation strategy and began a daily dashboard called Atlas' Morning Review, set for 6 am Central. Their list of subscriptions went into Google Drive and a draft reply to an email was created.
What it lets people do
The Skill lets someone see at a glance which senders fill their inbox, without the AI reading every message. The morning review is designed to summarise the last 24 hours of important mail and move subscription emails into their own folder.
What they learned
They learned that the right question matters more than more processing: knowing who sends the most beats summarising everything. Writing down the method turned a one-off cleanup into a tool they can keep building on, with a newsletter generator and a system dashboard next on their list.
“list of subscribed from email address - do not read”

Gmail Inbox Cleanup & Sender Audit was built during AI Mastery.
