From viewing AI as a tool to recognizing it as a co-creator
A 30-year marketing veteran overcame her skepticism about AI being a shortcut for lazy work, discovering instead a transformative partnership that opened doors to creating videos, websites, and apps she never imagined doing herself—proving that learning at 50 can be both fun and gratifying.
The teachers and speakers of MindValley often say that the courses here are transformative. I thought that was just a mandatory marketing spiel until I’ve finished my AI Mastery course and discovered for myself that there is indeed truth in the testimonies that it is life-changing, especially if you allow yourself to be open to new concepts and beliefs. I signed up for the AI Mastery Course thinking I just had to do it because we are already in the AI era and it’s here to stay. I thought I would just learn about the various apps and how to maximize them as tools. Admittedly, I was reluctant at first to fully immerse myself in AI because I saw it often being used as a crutch by people who were too lazy to do the work. Having been a Gen X marketing practitioner for 30 years has ingrained in me to do the hard work myself. My mantra had always been if I want excellence, I shouldn’t rely on quick fixes or shortcuts. I did not even think that this course can transform my mindset but it did, from viewing AI merely as a tool before to now recognizing it as a co-creator or partner in ideation, creation, processing and execution. Midway through the course, I’ve realized that it has influenced too in how I approach tasks and projects. From thinking “That’s not for my forte” or “That’s somebody else’s job” to “Why not give it a try?” And the biggest surprise? That learning at 50 is equally FUN and gratifying! Thanks to this program, the door to new, exciting possibilities has opened. As I dutifully did one artifact one after another, it has opened my mind to new avenues I can take and allowed me to consider and explore ventures that I thought were out of my reach. Imagine, creating a video in minutes when my team and I used to take hours shooting and editing materials? Or creating websites and building apps through the help of AI? Those tasks we relegated to IT people or third party suppliers before. I never imagined doing those things myself. But with the power of AI, the possibilities are really endless! And the beauty of it is that AI is the great equalizer – anyone can learn and benefit from it. It’s for anyone and everyone willing to embrace change.
