Created winning design sketches in an hour using AI on first try
When asked to create concept sketches for a YMCA childcare facility with just one hour to spare, she turned to AI tools for the first time and delivered multiple hand-drawn style options that stood out from typical AI submissions—launching her new role as the go-to AI expert.
I was asked to help a fellow Designer with some concept sketches for a Design Proposal for a project for a YMCA Child Care Facility. I had an hour to do these sketches. (actually only one was required by i was happy to provide options). I read quickly the design parameters and used those to created a prompt for MidJourney. It was my first time using MidJourney and my overall goal was to not look like AI generated sketches as i suspected there would be plenty of those being submitted. I chose an old architectural hand sketch style with a watercolor wash for the aesthetic in child care enhancing colors. For experimentation afterwards, i selected a few and made them into realistic photographs using Gemini. There more to learn with MidJourney but I feel this was a successful application because of the clarity of the prompt I provided and vetted through ChatGPT. Now I am being asked to help with all things AI. 🙂
