Turning my ship around from doing to being and receiving
A high-achieving introvert discovers the transformative power of stillness and receiving through Vishen's storytelling and embodied teaching. The challenge helped her shift from striving and doing to being and receiving, turning her ship toward exciting uncharted waters.
As somebody who does not celebrate Christmas in December, the last week of each year has always served as time of deep reflection, communion with nature, gathering my past year in a loving review, and laying down the stepping stones for the year to come. A seven-day challenge focused on states of BEING when everyone is busy DOING, captured my heart instantly. I entered with no expectations, but an intention to fine-tune my "beingness" self, and feeling the tingling in my fibers that it was going to be GOOD. I cannot imagine a soul better suited to host this rich offering, than Vishen. His accent is very captivating and actually served to anchor my attention as it brings a different melody and cadence to the English language (which is not native language for me, either). Then, he is a fabulous story-teller. Bewitching! Yeah, we can talk about books and habits and coaches, butnothing lands a message like a good story. And Vish had so many. My favourite being the one on Devotion Day, or Al Capone and Edward O'Hare. I was floored with symbolism, goosebumps inside and out. Hearing stories literally activates cellular memory, and it all sinks in so much deeper. Very grateful for this. Further, bringing the poetry into the teachings also moved me deeply. Beauty is as valid a force in the Universe as magnetism or gravity; sadly neglected personal development. I appreciated the poetry tonic and even more, how Vish wove it into the fabric of his teachings. So many decades haveI read Rumi's poetry, not knowing he was an Afgan refugee. Lastly- Vishen EMBODIES what he talks about. One only needs seeing youtube videos of him 10 years ago, or hear his accounts of transformation: humble, vulnerable, and funny! Messages delivered from a teacher who embodies them land deeper. Grateful for that also. As a student of Joe Dispenza and follower of his Work, I appreciate the "ANTI-states"(my term) and that was my favourite part/thread of the program. STILLNESS, NON-ATTACHMENT, RECEIVING. Five decades into my life, and only now getting comfortably settled into spaces between words, notes, glances, connecting with the courage to desire but not expect, to stand under a mighty waterfall of lights and gifts to receive. This has been, and still is, a fascinating adventure and a FUN transformation (with elements of alchemical transmutation), for an A-type personality that used to strive, make things happen, reach out, organize, rinse and repeat. This type-A, high achieving persona is also a genuine introvert, so the skill and art of stillness, as soon as I dared open my soul to meditation, sound healing, and tai-chi, immediately enchanted me. I literally feel like I am turning my ship around into exciting uncharted waters and I know that receiving will be rich and rewarding. The 7-day Sacred States Challenge has precipitated in the most beautiful way, the most important transformation in my life that started a few years ago, but its momentum is now undeniable: that from moving and doing, to being and receiving by means of shooting my Desire Rockets, having Faith in the benevolent universe and its magic, and navigating the doing stream of my reality with playfulness and creativity. Thank you for the huge wave of inspiration. Love and Merry Christmas to Vishen and the entire MV Team. Aleksandra
