“It helped me connect that fear of being myself, or fear of achieving my potential is really linked with fear that I won't be accepted”

Quick summary

Scott discovered how past experiences of holding back led to self-rejection, connecting fears of expressing himself and reaching his potential to a deeper fear of not being accepted.

For me it wasn't a complete rejection in the traditional sense of someone saying I wasn't good enough. It was a couple experiences where I felt like I couldn't express myself, or where I was hurt because I let myself get to close to something or someone. So it wasn't someone rejecting me, it was me feeling like I couldn't fully be myself. Maybe you still haven't had that experience, but if you have that may be where you find some value to the session. In a way this was me indirectly rejecting myself in some sense.

They were always experiences I knew were significant, but I hadn't thought of them as influencing my fear of rejection. It helped me connect that fear of being myself, or fear of achieving my potential is really linked with fear that I won't be accepted. I'm glad you thought it was insightful!
