"I continued to eat healthy options, and get rest and fluids. Somehow, I lost ten pounds"

I enrolled in Holobody in a 3:00am fit of insomnia, and I regretted it immediately. I'd just been diagnosed with liver disease. A potentially fatal disease suffered by 1/4 of the adult population of the United States . . . that has no medication . . . and no information campaign. Someone needed to tell people about this, and it looked like that was me, but who listens to obese middle-aged women?

I needed a strenuous fitness program, so Holobody, here I come.

Except it wasn't. Instead of insulting me or making me explain myself, Holobody started with easy, attainable goals, like fluid intake and sleep. And love. It's a funny thing, love. People who love themselves would do whatever possible to protect their magnificent, beautiful bodies, and show up in a state of joy.

Partway through this program, I developed a painful, debilitating injury. It was not the result of activity, but doctors asked me to avoid working out. In a different era of my life, I would have collapsed into a bag of potato chips and ended my quest for wellness. This time was different. Working out was not an option, but I continued to eat healthy options, and get rest and fluids. Somehow, I lost ten pounds.

My journey is not complete, nor is my recovery, but at this point, my destination is different. I aim to love myself and my amazing body as much as I can. After all, I have a message this is very important, and who listens to someone who doesn't love herself?
