"The transformation is so dramatic that I am dying to return to the Chinese doctor because he will be blown away!"
After a year and a half of guiding an Asian parish during Covid Year One-- with Asian racism in the US and with chronic stresses of the time-- my MS symptoms began to grow and my general health began to shrink. I retired--but longed to continue my vocation but in a new way, one that I can physically sustain--enter Holobody!
Four months later my MS symptoms are hugely shrinking, my health and well-being are huge--the transformation is so dramatic that I am dying to return to the Chinese doctor (that a parishioner paid for me to see my last week, who said my chi was very very low) because he will be blown away!
How will Holobody figure in my vocation as a Life Coach? I am not sure. My natural inclination in coaching is the imagery, the self talk, all of which is a continuation of being a priest. I am not confident in leading a person through a health and fitness regimen.
As a theologian I love thinking of how Holobody challenges an inclination (in the Christian group, can't speak for others) to downplay the importance of body in life experience. Again, I take it in the theological direction, not as confident in the practice!
The before and after pix don't look dramatic--I am plumper before--but what I can see is that chi! It grew!!!
