“Peace begins when I stop waiting for everything to fall into place”
Facing an annulment and family separation in the Philippines, she was overwhelmed by sadness and uncertainty. Through the program, she discovered that peace doesn't come from waiting for life to fall into place, but from choosing happiness in the present moment.
Before this program, I was going through one of the most emotionally difficult chapters of my life. My husband had asked for an annulment of our marriage, and I found myself overwhelmed with sadness, uncertainty, and tears. In the Philippines, where divorce is not available under current law, the process of ending a marriage felt particularly difficult.
What made it even harder was knowing that my emotions were affecting my children, who were also navigating the changes in our family. When my 17-year-old son decided to move in with his father, I experienced mixed emotions. Part of me felt relieved that he would finally have the opportunity to build a closer relationship with his dad. But another part of me worried about how these changes would affect him and our relationship.
My youngest daughter, who is 14, also began spending weekends with her father. Although we never had major disagreements about custody, adjusting to our new family arrangement was emotionally challenging. I was trying to accept a reality I hadn't imagined for myself. I felt lost, emotionally exhausted, and uncertain about what life would look like moving forward.
Thanks to this program, I began seeing my circumstances through a different perspective. I learned that acceptance doesn't mean giving up. It means recognizing what I cannot control and choosing how I respond to it. Instead of allowing sadness and uncertainty to dictate my days, I began approaching my annulment, my relationships, and my future with greater understanding and emotional awareness.
One of the most meaningful changes has been my relationship with my children, especially my son. By learning to manage my own emotions and letting go of the need to control every outcome, I created more space for understanding, connection, and peace.
My biggest realization was that I couldn't control everything happening around me, but I could change how I experienced it.
That realization changed me so much. And now, my life is more peaceful, joyful, and intentional. I have rediscovered the importance of doing things that genuinely make me happy. I dance, I laugh, and I allow myself to enjoy life without carrying the guilt I once felt. I'm learning to live more fully in the present rather than allowing the past to define me or worrying constantly about the future.
Most importantly, I've come to understand that choosing my own happiness doesn't mean loving my children or the people around me any less. In fact, when I am happier and more at peace with myself, I can show up for them with more love, patience, and understanding.
My circumstances may not have changed exactly as I once hoped, but the way I experience my life has changed profoundly.
I entered this program believing that peace would come when everything around me finally fell into place.
What I discovered was that peace begins when I stop waiting for everything to fall into place before allowing myself to be happy.
Today, I am not simply learning how to become a life coach.
I am learning how to live my own life again.
And that, to me, is the most beautiful transformation of all.
