"The most significant change was in my relationship with my partner"

Quick summary

Navigating major life transitions, Karen discovered tools that transformed her struggling relationship. By learning to ask clearly for what she needed, she and her partner broke through months of quiet suffering and reconnected on a deeper level.

When I joined the program in February 2025 my life was in every sort of transition. I had just left 20 years of building a community organization, I moved in with my elderly mother, and all the transitions were shaking me and impacting my relationship with my partner. I first took a few Mind Valley courses in the fall and found that they were quite helpful in grounding me. The Certified Life Coach program gave me a lot of tools to look differently at many situations and find more empowering ways of seeing things. The most significant change was in my relationship with my partner. I began to ask for what I needed more clearly and found that we had both been quietly suffering without asking the other for things we needed. This significantly shifted a really bad dynamic that had started a few months earlier and shifted some negative behaviours that were undermining our ability to connect. I feel like I have really just scratched the surface of the ways I can use the tools from this course. I think it will take time to really embody the changes and feel fully ready to share with others. I am looking forward to continuing to meet with people from the cohort who I feel are also just beginning to blossom into their best lives.
