"I found it very comforting to know that i was actually doing something constructive rather than simply watching"
Before this program, when helping women through childbirth, I knew there was only so much I could do about the pain she was experiencing. As most know, midwives support natural, unmedicated birth and pain is a natural part of the birth process. Or so we are led to believe by the medical profession and old wive's tales. I still attend some births and just recently, I attended a birth virtually that took place in Lebanon, via a video call. Covid-19, forced the couple to reconsider their birth. They chose to stay home, take their chances and have an unassisted birth. Two fantastic, and totally unexpected outcomes occurred. While the laboring mother was working with her all consuming contractions, I slipped into my centered state and helped ease her through them. I found it very comforting to know that i was actually doing something constructive rather than simply watching. The labor went smoothly and the baby was born with no complications. This was not unexpected as birth is quite normal. During the birth when it seemed the baby was a little stuck, the father moved the camera so I could see that the baby's little hand was up against her cheek. I mentally, slid the hand slightly downward and the baby immediately slid out. You must understand that when a baby's hand is wedged like that, it will not slide out of the way by itself. The midwife usually has to do it. The second unexpected outcome was that I was able to send a very calming influence to the father who had been on the verge of tears when he called asking for my help. I focused on sending him assurances and calming energy. It worked! He ended up being the one to catch the baby upon birth. Thanks to Silva Ultramind, I think I shall not retire - or I shall teach how midwives and doulas can use this program to help them during the birth process. And now, I shall be consumed with sharing this information with other Doulas and Midwives and even expecting mothers!
