"I have been part of the Mindvalley community for some time, and one of Sonia's meditations has accompanied me on many of my morning walk"
Dear Sonia,
I wanted to take a few minutes to write to you simply to say thank you for the work you share with the world.
A little about me: I have practiced interior design for more than 20 years and have taught in the Interior Design program at the University of Miami for the past ten years as an adjunct professor. I have also recently completed my Master’s degree in Neuroarchitecture, a field that explores, among other things, how neuroscience can help us better understand our relationship with the built environment.
For approximately the past eight years, I have been fascinated by understanding how we are built—physically, cognitively, and emotionally—from a scientific perspective. At the same time, I have always believed there are parts of our human experience that we don't completely understand yet.
I have been part of the Mindvalley community for some time, and one of your meditations has accompanied me on many of my morning walks. Recently, the timing somehow felt right to explore more of your work, so I started listening to Sixth Sense Superpower.
And then, Sonia, I found you.
To my surprise, I could relate to some of the “unique situations” you describe—those moments when somehow we know we are being guided, even when logic, circumstances, or the people around us are telling us something different.
Your stories brought back one particular experience in my own life: the story of how I somehow became involved in saving 109 trees behind my building complex.
It became an almost year-long volunteer effort involving the city and, along the way, an extraordinary sequence of people and circumstances. A very close friend of mine, a Ph.D. electrical engineer and someone whose judgment I deeply respect, told me many times that what I was trying to accomplish was probably impossible. He was genuinely trying to protect me from investing so much of myself in what appeared to be a hopeless mission.
But I couldn't let it go. I literally couldn't sleep thinking that “my trees” were going to be euthanized.
So I followed my intuition and started the mission anyway.
The story had a beautiful ending: the 109 trees were saved. But what happened between the beginning and that ending—the ups and downs, the unexpected people who appeared at exactly the right moments, and the circumstances that somehow came together—is something I don't think I could ever have invented if I had tried to write it as a story.
I eventually wrote a post about the experience, and I hope to make a short reel about it as well—not simply to tell the story of the trees, but to encourage people to stand behind causes they deeply believe in, particularly when those whose lives are affected—whether people, animals, nature, or even 109 trees—cannot speak loudly enough for themselves.
I am now entering a significant period of change in my own life, and your work arrived at an interesting moment. I know this is a time when I need to continue practicing how to listen to my intuition while remaining grateful for the extraordinary things that happen—and perhaps even more importantly, for the small, everyday miracles where I often find the greatest peace and contentment.
Thank you, Sonia, for sharing your experiences so openly and for encouraging others to trust and develop that part of themselves.
Your work has been a beautiful reminder for me at exactly the right time.
With gratitude and a big hug,
Aimee Lopez @HolisticInteriorsDesign or @ICDesignsbyAimee
