“My voice had become someone else's permission to heal”
After surviving childhood trauma that taught her silence meant safety, Jacqui used Social Media Mastery to find her voice. Her authentic content reached over a million views, but the real transformation came when strangers began trusting her with their own hidden stories.
From Silence to Service Before Social Media Mastery, and for most of my life, I believed my shame silenced me to keep me safe. As a little girl who endured nine Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) including sexual abuse, I learnt that drawing attention to myself felt dangerous. Staying quiet became my way of surviving. My inner critic, whom I affectionately call Whisper, still questioned whether my voice was worthy of being heard. "Who do you think you are?" "What if people judge you?" "What if your story is too much?" Social Media Mastery was a gift because I knew my mission was bigger than my fear. I wanted to reach the people walking the same path I once did: the people silently carrying shame, hiding behind perfectionism or believing they didn’t belong, when in reality they had simply adapted to survive. What Shifted for me? Social Media Mastery transformed how I communicate, particularly through the "Here's How You Know..." framework. As a behavioural change and leadership coach, I realised I didn't need to tell people how to change. I simply needed to help them recognise themselves. Every reel became an opportunity to shine a light on unconscious behaviours, helping people become more self-aware. Then something extraordinary happened. My message travelled further than I had ever imagined. Several reached hundreds of thousands of people, collectively attracting well over a million views, while my latest reel continues to grow beyond 717,000 views. My followers have increased 5X. But it wasn’t the views or comments that were the greatest win. It was what happened afterwards. Some didn't just watch a reel and scroll on. They followed me, explored other content, my book, because they wanted to understand themselves more deeply. Then complete strangers trusted me with stories they had never shared before. Some have asked about my trauma-informed leadership coaching programmes. For too many years I believed my story was something to hide. Now it has become the reason people trust me and feel safe to share theirs. Why This Matters That was the moment I realised Social Media Mastery wasn't really about creating better content. It was about creating enough connection for people to feel safe enough to reach out. That was the moment I realised my voice had become someone else's permission to heal. The biggest transformation wasn't the number of people watching my videos. It was the number of people beginning to understand themselves with greater depth. When someone realises their perfectionism, people-pleasing or overachievement is a survival strategy, shame begins to loosen its grip. Curiosity replaces criticism. Self-awareness replaces shame and self-blame. Hope begins where shame once lived. Who I am Now? Looking back, I now realise my greatest wound has become my greatest contribution. Social Media Mastery gave me much more than a repeatable strategy for creating engaging content. It gave me the confidence to consistently show up as my authentic self and speak directly to one person on camera. Most importantly, that vulnerability is not something to hide from but something that allows others to feel seen. The girl who grew up with nine ACEs and was silenced by the shame is now using that same voice to empower people to believe that their past may explain their behaviours but it doesn’t have to define their future. Thank you, Mindvalley, for giving me more than a social media strategy. For helping me grow to empower others understand themselves more deeply and break patterns. Every person who understands themselves more deeply becomes a more conscious leader, parent, partner and friend. One person changes. One family changes. One generation changes. That is how the ripple effect begins. You helped me transform silence into service. And this is only the beginning. Because somewhere, someone is still living the life I once lived in silence and they deserve to know that deep transformation and healing is possible.
