Social Media Mastery

Built a repeatable system to scale classical Kathak online

Quick summary

A classically trained Kathak dancer and teacher transformed years of stage presence and discipline into a scalable online system. Through Social Media Mastery, she learned to apply the same consistency from daily riyaz to digital content, expanding her 800-year-old art form's reach beyond the studio.

Kathak has always demanded consistency from me. Years of daily riyaz (practice), performing in front of live audiences, teaching students who need discipline modeled for them, not just described. I've always loved being in front of a camera too; performing has never felt like a stretch, on a stage or on a screen. That foundation was already solid going into this program. What I was looking for wasn't confidence, it was scale. I enrolled in Social Media Mastery to take everything I already had, the training, the stage presence, the teaching instinct and build an actual system around it, so that showing up for Krishnapriya Rasrang Performing Arts (KRPA) online could be as consistent and repeatable as showing up in the studio. That's exactly what it gave me. Sarah Snow and Prince EA's work on consistency reframed it as a practice, not a mood. The same discipline I bring to riyaz, just pointed at a camera on a regular rhythm instead of sporadic bursts. And Hook Point's system (Andrew Tarkington and Brendan Kane) gave me the structure to turn a piece of choreography or a teaching moment into content that actually holds attention: a hook, a format, a reason for someone who's never seen Kathak before to keep watching — so I wasn't starting from scratch with every post. My top three takeaways: 1. Structure scales what discipline already built — the process is what turned years of practice into a system I could actually repeat online. 2. My "niche" was never a limitation — classical art is exactly the kind of specific, unfamiliar-but-fascinating story the Generalist Principle says travels furthest. 3. Consistency compounds — a simple, repeatable format posted on rhythm beats a beautifully produced piece made once a month. Thank you to Vishen, Ileana, and every instructor in this program for giving an 800-year-old art form the structure to reach further than the room it's performed in.
