"My life today is...unrecognizable"

After struggling with addiction for decades, I was finally able to get clean at the age of 60! The freedom I felt was exhilarating but at the same time, I was in a tremendous amount of emotional pain. I knew that staying clean a day at a time was first and foremost but I also had much healing to do. I prayed daily (and sometimes hourly) to my higher power to “put my on the path to my highest good”... then I discovered Lisa Nichols. Her story deeply moved and inspired me. I found myself in dire financial circumstances, similar to what she had described. I heard the shift in her mindset...the vow she had made to her young son. As I watched her on stage telling her story, I saw how very far she had come. I understood that THAT mindset would also serve me and so, I dug deep, and adopted that “I can dream it, therefore I can do it “ attitude! It has served me well. My life today is...unrecognizable. I have peace and joy in my heart I would never have thought possible. While there are many spiritual teachers I follow, when it’s time to speak with other addicts, whether one or many, Lisa is my go-to gal! I choose my words carefully and simply follow her advice. Addiction is a mysterious and very powerful disease. It is my dream, and I believe, my purpose, to help other addicts by sharing my story. With Lisa’s guidance, I am doing just that.
