Awesomeness Fest raises hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for charities while The Mindvalley Foundation supports major NGOs that are transforming the planet such as the X Prize Foundation.
Furthermore, through Project Renaissance, we’ve undertaken an initiative to turn Kuala Lumpur into one of the world’s top twenty places to launch a startup by building from the ground up our own eco-system supporting tens of thousands of local entrepreneurs – all through a unique model of running close to 200 FREE educational events promoting technology, public speaking, entrepreneurship, educational reform and more in our Hall of Awesomeness which we grant rent free to 150 plus events every year. An Office Close To Paradise
Yep that’s right, we moved our HQ from New York and San Francisco to the tropical paradise of Malaysia. Not only is Kuala Lumpur (the capital city) one of the hottest economic growth regions in the world, it’s an incredibly fun country to work in – with some of the world’s most exotic locations like Phuket, Bali and Angkor Wat all within a few hours flight.

The Mindvalley Team Retreat
We believe that the best way to grow a company is to grow our individuals. Our unique annual team retreat is one of the ways we do this, where the team spends 4 days together on a beautiful beach working on all areas of their lives. Why not open up and collaborate and share our tools so that together we can touch a billion lives? Visit The Hall of Awesomeness
After winning the World’s Most Democratic Workplace 6 years straight we asked ourselves a question. What would happen if we opened up our office to the outside world? And so we did. We built one of Kuala Lumpur’s most epic auditoriums, the Hall of Awesomeness. And then promptly gave it rent free to a multitude of groups in the city that promote social causes, entrepreneurship, education reform, tech innovation and startup culture.
The result has been phenomenal. In the last 2 years, we’ve hosted 200 events attracting 10,000 amazing folks in our office. And Mindvalley employees are given access to an unrivaled learning platform. The smartest folks in the city gather in our office every month for some 20 different meetup groups, ranging from Webcamp – KL’s biggest tech meetup, to Incitement, a group promoting positive living and dreaming big that has grown so rapidly it’s now spawning chapters around the world.
HOW TO JOIN THE TEAM
We’re seeking A players. I know that definition is vague. But trust us, if you are one, you know it. People at Mindvalley are epic, smart – and well balanced. Mindvalley employees make an impact from day one: they have an opportunity to enjoy early responsibility and rich experiences. Members of our team are encouraged to use their initiative and shape their roles, which keeps them on track of developing individual expertise. Upon being on board you will enjoy responsibility, development opportunities, training, travel and an environment of like-minded people who don’t settle for doing any less than what they love.
Selection process / what to expect
You will need :
- A 3-minute video cover letter where you state three reasons why you’re awesome and why you want to work for Mindvalley
- A resume in pdf format
- Links to software, web designs, or writing you have created so we can see proof of your talents
When you find a particular role that interests you, apply by sending all of the above to firstname.lastname@example.org . Tell us why this particular position aligns with your background and experience.
Once you submit your application, it goes through a pre-screening process depending on the position you’re applying for. If we find a match, then your profile is shortlisted and we will contact you to arrange the interviews.
If you’re located outside Malaysia, we will arrange Skype interviews. If you’re already here, we’ll invite you to our office. We usually organize at least 3 rounds of interviews, and you will have an opportunity to speak to your peers, your manager, and a member of our Executive Team.
The interviews are a chance to get to know each other better, and for you to tell us what makes you stand out from the crowd. You can share your career goals, your skills and strengths, as well as areas where you would like to grow. You will get insights into life at Mindvalley and our culture. It’s also a great opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.
If you’re successful, you’ll be offered a job. The offer will give you a good understanding of the role and what to expect here :-)
After you’re hired
So you’ve had your Mindvalley interviews and received the offer letter. What happens next?
If you’re an international candidate, we’ll make sure that your on-boarding and visa process goes smoothly. After receiving final confirmations, you can go ahead and book your ticket to Kuala Lumpur. We hire all year round and usually have two start dates per month. It averagely takes about one to two months from receiving the offer to stepping in our office.
Our Talent Manager will send you all documents together with our pre-arrival employee handbook. We created it specially for our new hires so that they are introduced to Mindvalley, our culture and day-to-day life in the company. On your first day, a series of e-mails will bombard your inbox. We will also set you up with a company Apple notebook (everyone gets one), give you a tour of the headquarters, introduce you to everyone and teach you how to operate the coffee machine.
You will be exposed to Induction Sessions and Introductory Training that will help you build basic skills before you hit the ground running. Throughout your employment you will gain functional skills, in addition to unique exposure to different cultures and ways of working.

Browse our website, check out our Facebook, find out more about our products, get some Insights. Be able to articulate what we do, who we are, what is our mission and values, and why you want to be a part of our team. Attend our events. Be social.
2. Explore the culture
Learn what it means that happiness is the new productivity. By getting to know us better, you can determine if our culture resonates with you. We value innovation, collaboration and growth.
3. Know what you want
Read the job description carefully to figure out how well you align to the role. Focus on what you can bring to the table, what makes your brain bubbling with enthusiasm and how that aligns with our mission.
4. Show the real you
We want to know what is not present in your resume. Share your valuable experiences and insights, summarize your achievements and charm us with your stories.
5. Dare us
Go ahead and quiz the interviewer with one sharp question after the other. It’s one of the best ways to establish a connection and for us to learn how serious you are about pursuing a career with us. Make us think.
Listening is one of the best ways to build the rapport and is as important as answering the questions. If you’re not paying attention, even if you know the right answer, you might give just a passable one.
