When Vishen Lakhiani founded A-Fest in 2010, he wasn't trying to create a transformational festival. He was simply feeling lonely, stuck in the grind, and yearning for connection. So, he invited his blog readers to join him in Costa Rica to bond and learn to surf. To his surprise, 250 people showed up, and A-Fest was born.
But what started as a simple gathering quickly evolved into something much more. Extraordinary people came together, magic happened, and the seeds of the Mindvalley ecosystem were planted. A-Fest became a place where inspiring minds could connect and lift each other up.
Today, A-Fest is an annual event that draws incredible entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers to breathtaking locations. It’s a four-day experience limited to 200-250 people, filled with transformative moments, thrilling adventures, and deep, lasting connections. It’s about finding your tribe and igniting the impact you’re meant to make.

What most amazes A-Fest participants is the sheer quality of our participants. Dr. Srikumar Rao, a highly popular MBA lecturer who’s spoken at Google and has been featured in Businessweek and Fortune, says he was “humbled” by the people he met at the event. Lisa Nichols, a renowned life coach, best-selling author and featured guru in The Secret, said this was perhaps the only event where she doesn’t just fly in to speak – she stays throughout the event because of the people. Giving back
Since its creation in 2010, A-Fest has supported various not-for-profit organizations, including X Prize and Give Love Foundation, and organized ‘Give Back’ days in Costa Rica, Greece, Mexico, and more. A-Fest has raised and given away $750,000 to charities around the world.
Additionally, $113,000 - the profits from the ticket sales for A-Fest Jordan 2022 - were donated to support Ukraine. In 2023, $100,000 was divided by organisations supporting Ukraine and a global NGO that’s helping to lift hundreds of kids out of abject poverty, mainly from the slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
