My last decade of experience has been as a consultant with a little coaching thrown in. I believed I knew how to coach but this quest has deepened my abilities. There are many skills I skirted around before but now can use them with intentionality and help my clients get the results they desire. I learned more than I could have imagined. I gained capabilities I did not know I even needed. "Consult the business and coach the people" was a powerful lesson that helped me learn how to effectively utilize both frameworks.
