Built and launched three real products without an engineering team

Quick summary

Raaj shifted from viewing AI as a tool to treating it as a development partner. This mindset unlocked the ability to build and launch real products independently, transforming how quickly he experiments and what he can create without a full team.

I’ve spent most of my career in technology, building systems and leading teams. AI wasn’t new to me, but I wanted to understand how far I could take it beyond presentations, experiments, and proof of concepts. I had ideas, but turning them into actual products traditionally required teams, time, and considerable investment.

I stopped looking at AI as just another technology and started treating it as a development partner. I experimented, failed, corrected, and kept building. The biggest change was realizing that I didn’t need an entire engineering team to turn an idea into a working product. I could do much of it myself.

I’ve built and launched Narratrace, a digital family museum, and I’m working on two more products, PIE and Finsnapp. These aren’t classroom exercises or prototypes. I’m building real applications intended for real customers.

I still make mistakes, and so does AI. The difference is that mistakes have become inexpensive. What used to take weeks or even months to correct can now be turned around in hours. That has completely changed how I experiment, build, and make decisions.

The biggest change? I no longer measure what I can build by the size of the team I have.
