AI Mastery

At 50, I built the memory my own brain stopped providing

Quick summary

Facing chronic memory problems from a brain tumor and concussions, this 50-year-old child welfare worker overcame her fear of AI to build custom tools that now hold what her brain can't—transforming limitation into empowerment.

"At 50, with a full-time job in child welfare and no AI experience at all, I built the memory my own brain stopped providing."

I had no experience with AI going into the Summit, and honestly it scared me. I listened for three days before I had my first conversation with Claude. I enrolled in AI Mastery days later to build a business. What I actually needed turned out to be something else. I have a meningioma, a history of concussions and a chronic memory problem as a result.

AI Mastery gave me the confidence to try, and the education so I no longer had to be afraid. I can now build my own tools to bridge the gaps my memory leaves. I stopped trying to hold my life in my head and started building things that would hold it for me: a summer garden plan, a travel app, a photography guide and a Hub.

In June, part-way through a working session with Claude AI, I wrote: "Sorry, I should have started this stream with HELP me! I'm lost in my project to create a Hub, that is supposed to help me feel not lost in my projects LOL…" That is the whole thing, really, and the most impactful lesson I am taking away from AI Mastery: there is always help to be found with AI.
