Summary: want-to-be-an-extraordinary-coach-never-stop-doing-these-5-things

Determined to become the best coach you can be?

Always looking for opportunities to implement new ideas and techniques to create a profitable coaching practice?

If you said yes, you’re in good company. The world’s most extraordinary coaches never stop learning, and they’re always looking for new ways to up their game.

If you want to achieve your highest potential as a coach and you’re ready to take your coaching practice to six figures and beyond, here are five things you must never stop doing.

1. Dig deep

You’ve worked hard on yourself, and you might feel you’ve overcome the mindset blocks, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs that used to hold you back.

Maybe you think it’s time to stop with the mindset work and focus on something else.

This is a mistake. Working on your mindset is a lifelong pursuit. Never stop doing this.

As we move through life, we are constantly called to face new challenges and situations that require increasing levels of courage, creativity, and personal power.

So, commit to improving and working on your thinking and beliefs for the rest of your life. The more you work on yourself, the more you can help your clients achieve greater success.

As world-class coach and best-selling author Rich Litvin says, “You can only take your clients as deep as you can go yourself.”

2. Embrace the new

Neuroscience reveals that the human brain craves routine and views any kind of change as a threat.

So, if you’re resistant to switching up and trying new coaching methods and frameworks, it’s totally understandable.

You’re wired to avoid change.

But here’s the thing…

Sticking to the same methods you’ve always used isn’t going to help you improve as a coach.

If you want to become one of the best in the business, you’re going to have to do the opposite.

Actively look for new coaching practices and ideas to increase your efficiency and develop your coaching skills. Attend weekend seminars and retreats, read books, and talk to other coaches.

Tracking new, updated coaching methods is also a great way to remain on the cutting edge of the coaching industry.

New, ambitious coaches are entering the marketplace every day, and keeping up with the latest, most effective coaching methodologies is the best way to guarantee you don’t get left in the dust.

3. Go live

Want to become the best? Then learn from the best.

While you may not be able to get 1-on-1 time with top coaches, there are other methods you can use to connect with them.

Many of the world’s best run retreats, seminars, and workshops all the time. This is a great way to watch these amazing coaches in action and to reach out to them.

Commit to attending live events by successful coaches on a consistent basis. Do this at least once or twice a year. The energy and spontaneous connections that can happen at live events are priceless.

If you absolutely cannot afford to go live, look for videos, masterclasses, and other online programs so you can watch world-class coaches at work and learn from them.

4. Develop the other role

When you’re a professional coach, you’re not just a coach. You’re also a business owner.

This means it’s not enough just to be a great coach; you need to know how to be an awesome business owner too.

Enrollment conversations, sales funnels, marketing techniques, pricing, package creation—these are just a few of the critical business skills you need to master if you want to get on the path that leads to greater impact and profits.

Set aside time and a portion of your business budget to improve these skills. You could purchase online programs or attend seminars on the subject.

You can also work with a business coach who will help you strategize and put all the important pieces together to create maximum results in your coaching practice.

5. Find like-minded peers

Success is a community effort.

If you want to be a world-class coach, you need help, support, encouragement, and motivation from others.

Think about joining a mastermind of like-minded peers. Look for online and offline opportunities to connect with other coaches.

Having kindred spirits—people who have similar goals and values as you do—on your side can greatly reduce the amount of time and effort you need to get where you want to go.

You’ll be far more likely to stick to your goals and strive for bigger, better ones when you have a community of allies cheering you on and holding you accountable.

Becoming the best coach you can be is about constant learning and continuous growth.

Never stop improving yourself in these five areas, and you can be confident of 2 outcomes…

Exponential improvements in your coaching skills and massive upward momentum in your business.
